Sender ID regulations |
From July 2025, sender IDs need to be registered with the SMS Sender ID Registry provided by Comreg.ie. This is designed to help protect the Short Message Service (SMS) as a reliable and trustworthy communications channel. From early July 2025, traffic without registered sender IDs will be flagged as “Likely Scam”, and from October 2025, will be blocked. Customers must register their sender IDs by going to https://senderid.comreg.ie/sender-id-sign-up . The participating aggregator (PA) should be selected as “Clickatell Limited". Certain generic sender IDs (e.g., “INFO”, “NOTICE”) are prohibited. Numeric sender IDs may be blocked by some operators.
